What is the best way to remove carpet adhesive from a hardwood floor?

Asked February 24, 2016 by a homeowner in Flooring (Albert Ross)

We are remodeling our floors and have found our living room to have a good amount of carpet adhesive on the hardwood floor. We have tried goop remove, orange cleaner, etc all with limited success

A good professional sander would be able to remove it with a sanding machine

Use a hardwood floor orbital sander to remove the adhesive and prep floor for refinishing.
