How do I get my sprinkler system ready for summer?

Turn the water on slowly to avoid pipe shock, then run each zone and walk the yard: look for broken or clogged heads, misaligned spray, and low-pressure zones (a sign of leaks). Adjust heads so you're watering plants, not pavement, and update the timer for the season. If a zone won't pressurize or you find a mainline leak, call an irrigation pro.
