Project Description

I own a Townhouse in Lake Oswego, Oregon. I am on the second floor above another townhouse in a building that has a total of 12 Townhouses (including mine). The neighbor directly below me is a hoarder and alcoholic and has cockroaches. When I bought the Townhouse I was not made aware of this problem otherwise I would not have bought the place. I am been here since December 2014. 2 months ago cock roaches are entering my Townhouse, via a shared wall between my unit and the neighbor below. I hired a professional exterminator to spray my unit, which helped, but roaches keep coming in (mainly in the kitchen area) through some access. Electrical? Plumbing? The exterminator did not find this unit to be the 'main' source of the problem, as very few roaches were noticed when spraying. However, I still get one caught in the roach motel every other day, then 5, and then none for a couple of days, and that is somewhat the pattern. My Townhouse is all electric. What I need: is a handyman to pull out the stove from the wall and see if that electrical hook up is sealed and if not, provide someway of collaring the wires from the wall in which the wires run into my unit and seal the edges. The bugs are mainly by the stove, and a friend suggested that the wires in which you hook up an electric stove, are coming out of the shared wall with my neighbor below must be one way the bugs are getting into the unit. The dishwasher would be the same routine, pulled out from the wall, caulk or plug up holes around that hook up- electric and plumbing. And basically take drawers out of the cabinets in the kitchen and see what other little holes can be plugged up. Cock roaches are also coming up into an upstairs bathroom, so the same routine there, seeing where they might be able to enter my unit and plug those holes up. I also need my bathtub caulked. Scrap out the old stuff and put down new caulking. Ok, that is it. I know it is not the most exciting job, but I am having the exterminator return on October 6 for a monthly spray. If this hole plugging up routine could be done before then, that would be idea. Thank you!
