Ducts and Vents

I just bought an old home and haven't moved in yet. I need to vent a dryer that is currently in the basement. A vent to a covered screened porch will be difficult to reach and I'd prefer it was vented to an outdoor space. Not sure this is possible. The dryer is in an area that is surrounded on two side by unexcavated spaces - a previous garage and the screened porch. Another option is to move the washer and dryer to the second floor walk-in closet. I have discussed this option with plumbers who say it can be done but charge way too much. I also have a leaking bilco door.
